In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:
a) “Air New Zealand” means Air New Zealand Limited.
b) “Corporate Client” and “Government Client” means a party that has signed corporate sales agreement with Us, and qualifies for Corporate Membership in accordance with the agreement with Us.
c) “Corporate Member” and “Government Member” means a person who's Membership Fee and Joining Fee was paid by the Member or the Member’s employer, and who is part of a corporate or government scheme, managed by a Scheme Coordinator.
d) "Guest" means a person who enters the Virgin Australia lounge as a guest of a Member.
e) “Individual Member” is a person who pays the applicable Membership Fee and Joining Fee and has current Membership to the Virgin Australia lounge and is not a Corporate Member, Lifetime Member or an Industry Member.
f) “Industry Member” means a Member who has paid the Membership Fee and Joining Fee through a travel organisation or association.
g) "Joining Fee" means the joining fee payable to Virgin Australia to join the Virgin Australia lounge, as determined by Virgin Australia from time to time.
h) “Life” refers to the natural life of the Member, for as long as Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd owns and operates airport lounges.
i) “lounge” means the Virgin Australia lounge.
j) “lounge Rules” means the rules which apply to a Member’s entry to the lounge, as amended by Virgin Australia from time to time.
k) “Lifetime Member” is a person who pays the applicable Membership Fee and has a continuous Membership to the Virgin Australia lounge for the duration of their Life.
l) "Member" means a Member of the Virgin Australia lounge and includes an Individual Member, Lifetime Member, a Corporate Member and an Industry Member.
m) "Membership Card" means your Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership card, or Virgin Australia lounge Membership card, whichever is applicable.
n) "Membership Fee" means the applicable fee payable to Virgin Australia for Virgin Australia lounge Membership, as determined by Virgin Australia from time to time.
o) “Occupant" or "You" means a Member, Guest or Single Entry Guest who has entered and is occupying the Virgin Australia lounge.
p) “Scheme Coordinator” is the administrative contact for Corporate, Government or Industry Member and is responsible for managing the Memberships for those Members who are part of a corporate or government scheme or travel organisation (as applicable).
q) “Senior Lifetime Member” is a Lifetime Member who is aged 60 years and over at the time they become a Lifetime Member.
r) “Single Entry” means a one-off entry to the Virgin Australia lounge, available for purchase either online or at the Virgin Australia lounge prior to 31 December 2011, or as allocated by Velocity to Velocity Members from time to time.
s) "Single Entry Fee" means the fee payable by or for a Single Entry.
t) "Single Entry Guest" means a person who has paid the Single Entry Fee.
u) "Velocity" or “Velocity Frequent Flyer” means the loyalty program (as amended from time to time) of the Virgin Australia Group, formerly being Velocity Rewards, which is owned by Velocity Rewards Pty Ltd ACN 116 089 448 as trustee of The Loyalty Trust and operated by Virgin Australia.
v) “Velocity Gold Member” means a Velocity Member who has earned, in the previous 12 months, the number of Status Credits required to upgrade to or maintain that Membership level.
w) “Velocity Member” means a current Member of Velocity Frequent Flyer.
x) “Velocity Platinum Member” means a Velocity Member who has earned, in the previous 12 months, the number of Status Credits required to upgrade to or maintain that Membership level.
y) “Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership Account” means your account setting out the details of your Velocity Membership including your Points, Status Credits, and Single Entries.
z) “Velocity Website” means the website located at www.virginaustralia.com/velocity
aa) "Virgin Australia" or "our" or "we" means Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd ABN 36 090 670 965.
ab) "Virgin Australia lounge Rules" means any rules published by Virgin Australia from time to time and available on the Virgin Australia lounge website.
ac) “Virgin Australia lounge Website” means the website located at http://www.virginaustralia.com/thelounge.
ad) “Virgin Australia (NZ)” means Virgin Australia Airlines (NZ) Ltd ARNB 107 549 851
ae) “Virgin Australia (SE Asia)” means Virgin Australia Airlines (SE Asia) Pty Ltd ABN ABN 79 097 892 389
a) These Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge Rules apply to all aspects of Membership of and entry to the Virgin Australia lounge.
b) Any person who applies for or purchases Virgin Australia lounge Membership, has a lounge Membership purchased on their behalf, uses their Membership Card or uses the Virgin Australia lounge (whether as a Member, Guest or Single Entry Guests), will be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
c) Virgin Australia has used all reasonable efforts to ensure the information provided to Virgin Australia lounge Occupants in relation to the Virgin Australia lounge is accurate and correct. However, to the extent permitted by law, Virgin Australia accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracy.
d) Virgin Australia reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge Rules in its sole discretion at any time and without notice. Virgin Australia will post details of any changes on the Virgin Australia lounge Website and may not give any other notice of the changes. It is your responsibility to keep yourself familiar with these Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge Rules.
a) Virgin Australia lounge Members must be Velocity Members.
b) Individual Membership is open to individuals who are over 18 years of age and is not transferable.
c) Corporate and Government Membership is available to organisations that enrol its employees in the Virgin Australia lounge. Corporate Memberships will have a common expiry date (i.e. all Memberships expire on the same date (e.g. 1Dec11, with Membership fee pro-rated to this date) and may be transferred once per year to another employee of the same organisation subject to payment of the applicable transfer fee, as set out in your corporate sales agreement with us.
d) Virgin Australia expressly reserves the right to vary the amount of the Membership Fee or the Joining Fee including, without limitation, offering promotional or discounted rates. Virgin Australia will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by any Member of the Virgin Australia lounge resulting from such variation.
e) Membership is at the discretion of Virgin Australia, and we may accept or reject an application for Membership as it deems fit.
f) For Individual Members and Industry Members, renewal of Membership, and payment of the Membership Fee is due upon the anniversary of the Member's date of joining. For Corporate and Government Members, payment of the Membership Rate is due upon the anniversary of the common expiry date. If Membership is not renewed within one (1) month of its expiry any subsequent application for its renewal will be subject to payment of the then applicable Joining Fee in addition to the Membership Fee.
g) If an Individual Member indicates to us within two (2) weeks of purchasing their Membership that they would like to withdraw from being an Individual Member of the Virgin Australia lounge, we will cancel their Membership and issue a refund of the Membership Fee provided the Individual Member has not used their Membership at any Virgin Australia lounge. An Individual Member who enters the Virgin Australia lounge in order to apply for Membership and has their Membership Card activated is deemed to have used their Membership and cannot claim a refund.
a) Upon acceptance of enrolment to the Virgin Australia lounge, each Member will be assigned a Membership number, which will be the same as a Velocity Membership number and the Member’s Membership Card will be activated to allow the Member to access the Virgin Australia lounge.
b) The membership is valid for use only by the Member whose name appears on the Membership Card.
c) The Membership Card is not a payment card. Members must take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised use of their Membership Card, and must notify Virgin Australia as soon as possible if their Membership Card is lost, stolen or mislaid. Upon receiving a request for a replacement Membership Card we may as a precondition request payment of a replacement card fee, and the production of documentation we consider is needed to verify that the request is genuine. We may decline to issue a replacement Membership Card if the request is made more than 3 months after the Membership Card has been lost, stolen or mislaid.
d) Members and/or the Scheme Coordinator (as applicable) must promptly advise Virgin Australia in writing of any change to their address or contact details.
e) Members and/or the Scheme Coordinator (as applicable) must act fairly and reasonably to Virgin Australia in all matters connected with their application for, and Membership of, the Virgin Australia lounge.
a) Some of the services and facilities offered to the Virgin Australia lounge Occupants are provided by suppliers over which Virgin Australia has no control. Arrangements for the availability and utilisation of these facilities and services are made by Virgin Australia solely as agent for the suppliers providing such services and facilities. The provision of the services and facilities in the Virgin Australia lounge will be subject, in each case, to the terms and conditions of the relevant supplier providing the relevant services or facilities and any claims relating to such services or facilities should be made directly to the relevant supplier.
b) Virgin Australia reserves the right in its absolute discretion to withdraw, cancel, vary or in any way change, or deny access to or use of any of the services and facilities offered or advertised as available to any the Virgin Australia lounge Occupant by virtue of Membership or entry to the Virgin Australia lounge, at any time without notice, and to the extent permitted by law, Virgin Australia shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by any the Virgin Australia lounge Occupant resulting from such withdrawal, cancellation, variation or change, or by the refusal or inability of Virgin Australia or any supplier to supply any service or facility at Virgin Australia lounge at any time.
c) Where Virgin Australia supplies you with goods or services which are the subject of a Reward you have certain rights under the Australian Consumer Law, known as ‘consumer guarantees’.
(i) These rights include guarantees that the goods supplied:
1. will be of acceptable quality;
2. will be reasonably fit for any purpose made known to us before we supply them to you; and
3. will correspond with any description, sample or demonstration model.
(ii) These rights include guarantees that the services supplied will be:
1. carried out by us with due care and skill;
2. fit for the purpose disclosed; and
3. supplied within a reasonable time.
This is a summary of some of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. It is not exhaustive and is not legal advice. Nothing in this document is intended to override or limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
d) Virgin Australia makes no warranties or representations in relation to the quality or availability of any services or facilities offered or advertised as available to a the Virgin Australia lounge Occupant by virtue of entry to the Virgin Australia lounge. To the extent permissible by law, Virgin Australia is not liable for any loss or damage suffered by a the Virgin Australia lounge Occupant suffered as a result of the quality or unavailability of any service or facility in the Virgin Australia lounge.
e) Access to computer facilities and the internet may be available in the Virgin Australia lounge, subject to availability. Virgin Australia does not represent or warrant that the computer facilities or internet access offered through the Virgin Australia lounge are free from computer viruses or other defects. Virgin Australia shall not be liable for any third party content on the internet that the Virgin Australia lounge Occupant may find offensive, upsetting or defamatory. Virgin Australia lounge Occupants are responsible for maintaining the security of all log-in identification information made available to them to access the internet or computer facilities in the Virgin Australia lounge. To the extent permitted by law, Virgin Australia is not liable for any security breaches suffered by any Virgin Australia lounge Occupant when using the internet, including personal or information security breaches, and is not liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the unavailability of the internet or computer facilities, including interruptions during use.
f) Meeting rooms may be available in the Virgin Australia lounge, subject to availability and payment of the then applicable meeting room booking fee. Meeting rooms must be booked through Virgin Australia lounge staff at reception.
g) Virgin Australia lounge Occupants using the Virgin Australia lounge computer facilities, the internet or meeting rooms assume responsibility for all loss, damage or consequences resulting directly or indirectly from such use. To the extent permitted by law, Virgin Australia shall not be liable for any loss or damage suffered in respect of use of the computer facilities, the internet or the meeting rooms.
h) Virgin Australia lounge Occupants are entitled to free photocopying (maximum 50 pages per day) and free faxing within Australia (maximum 50 pages per day), subject to paragraph 5(b) of these Terms and Conditions. Any photocopying over this limit will be charged at the rate determined by Virgin Australia from time to time.
a) From time to time, Virgin Australia may charge fees for some of the services provided in the Virgin Australia lounge, or in relation to Membership of the Virgin Australia lounge. Details of applicable fees, as determined by Virgin Australia from time to time, will be posted on the Virgin Australia lounge Website. Virgin Australia reserves the right to change or introduce new fees in relation to any of the services provided in the Virgin Australia lounge at any time without notice.
b) Virgin Australia accepts no responsibility for and makes no representation about your tax liability as a result of Membership or use of the Virgin Australia lounge or any services or facilities in the Virgin Australia lounge. You are solely responsible for any taxes, GST, duties, levies, fees or other charges levied or imposed arising from, as a result of or in connection with your Membership or use of the Virgin Australia lounge. Virgin Australia recommends that you consult your accountant or tax adviser to ensure you understand possible tax (including fringe benefits tax) implications, if any, related to Membership of the Virgin Australia lounge.
a) Members and Single Entry Guests are entitled to access the Virgin Australia lounge in the relevant departure port when their next onward flight on that day is with Virgin Australia.
b) Members may access the Virgin Australia lounge by displaying their Membership Card or quoting their Membership number and providing satisfactory proof of identity (e.g. a driver's licence) along with the Member's itinerary or boarding pass for onward travel on Virgin Australia that day, at the reception desk of the Virgin Australia lounge.
c) Each Member may invite one Guest, and two children aged 2 – 12 years inclusive to accompany the Member to the Virgin Australia lounge at no charge. Additional guests (adults and children over 2 years) will be charged the Single Entry Fee. Guests must be accompanied by a Member at all times while in the Virgin Australia lounge, but need not be travelling.
d) The Member must ensure that his/her Guest/s complies with these Terms and Conditions and Virgin Australia lounge Rules at all times.
e) Single Entry Guests may gain one-off casual access to the Virgin Australia lounge by payment of the Single Entry Fee, as determined by Virgin Australia from time to time. Single Entry Guests are entitled to access the Virgin Australia lounge in the relevant departure port if their next onward flight that day is with Virgin Australia, and must present an itinerary or boarding pass prior to entry. Single Entry Guests may access the Virgin Australia lounge a maximum of 2 hours prior to their flight's scheduled departure time.
f) Entry of Members, Guests and Single Entry Guests is at all times subject to space availability.
g) Single Entry may not be available for purchase at the lounge, and may not be available for use during peak periods and when the lounge is at or nearing full capacity.
h) Guests and Single Guests holders under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the Virgin Australia lounge. Guests and Single Guests holder under 18 years of age are not permitted to access the self-service bar.
i) Virgin Australia lounge staff may in their absolute discretion, refuse entry to any Virgin Australia lounge Occupant, or require a Virgin Australia lounge Occupant to immediately leave the Virgin Australia lounge, at any time for any reason deemed appropriate by Virgin Australia.
j) Smart, casual dress standards apply at all times.
k) Due to operational reasons, access to the Virgin Australia lounge and its services and facilities may be unavailable, restricted limited or withdrawn at any time and operating hours may vary without notice.
a) Reciprocal access to selected Air New Zealand owned and operated lounges in Australia and New Zealand is available to Virgin Australia lounge Members travelling on trans-Tasman flights (to or from New Zealand) on Virgin Australia, Virgin Australia (NZ), Virgin Australia (SE Asia) and Air New Zealand marketed and operated flights, and within New Zealand on Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand lounge locations available to Virgin Australia lounge Members are published on the Virgin Australia website at http://www.virginaustralia.com.
b) Single Entries are not available to Air New Zealand lounges.
c) Access to Air New Zealand lounges is subject to space availability at all times. Smart, casual dress standards apply, and Members must comply with the Koru Terms and Conditions, available at http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/koru-terms-conditions.
d) Access to Air New Zealand lounges will be available to Members for the duration of the reciprocal lounge access agreement between Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand. Locations available to Virgin Australia lounge Members, and the terms and conditions of the reciprocal access may be subject to change without notice. Information regarding access is published on the Virgin Australia Website at http://www.virginaustralia.com.
a) You agree that we will collect and use your personal information in accordance with the Virgin Australia Privacy Policy, which is published on the Virgin Australia Website.
b) You consent to receiving marketing and promotional material from Virgin Australia and agree that we need not include an "unsubscribe" facility in any electronic message we send you.
a) Virgin Australia expressly reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion and without notice to:
i. terminate or materially alter any aspect of operation of the Virgin Australia lounge;
ii. terminate or suspend any Virgin Australia lounge Membership and/or the right of any Virgin Australia lounge Member to use his or her Virgin Australia lounge Membership. In the event a Virgin Australia lounge Membership is terminated, a pro rata refund may be made of the Member's Membership Fee, at Virgin Australia's absolute discretion.
b) Any breach of these Terms and Conditions, whether intentional or otherwise, may result in termination or suspension of Membership, cancellation of access to Virgin Australia lounge services or facilities, or both, at Virgin Australia's sole discretion.
c) Virgin Australia may terminate or suspend a Member's Virgin Australia lounge Membership if, in Virgin Australia's reasonable opinion, a Member has:
i. abused or damaged any facilities or services in the Virgin Australia lounge;
ii. displayed or engaged in inappropriate behaviour whilst in the Virgin Australia lounge which is or may be likely to be detrimental to the interests of Virgin Australia or a supplier;
iii. supplied or attempted to supply misleading information or make any misrepresentation to Virgin Australia or a supplier;
iv. failed to comply with these Terms and Conditions or Virgin Australia lounge Rules;
v. been refused carriage on a Virgin Australia flight;
vi. engaged in or suspected to be engaged in illegal activities whilst within the Virgin Australia lounge;
vii. engaged in theft of Virgin Australia's or a Virgin Australia lounge Occupant's property; or
viii. abused or intimidated Virgin Australia lounge staff or the staff of any of its suppliers.
d) On termination of Membership for any reason, all benefits associated with Membership of the Virgin Australia lounge will cease. Virgin Australia will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which you or anyone else may suffer as a result of any termination or suspension of your Membership.
e) Virgin Australia lounge Membership will automatically terminate on the death of the Virgin Australia lounge Member and the Membership Fee and Joining Fee will be forfeited. Membership is not willable.
a) These terms and conditions together with the Virgin Australia lounge Rules and any subsequent amendments made in accordance with these terms set out the entire agreement with you regarding entry to and use of the Virgin Australia lounge.
b) To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you for any monetary loss or damage. Without limitation, we are not liable to you for any direct or indirect loss, damage or expense regardless of whether the same arose from negligence, breach of contract or otherwise, and regardless of whether we have any control over circumstances giving rise to the claim or not.
a) These terms and conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the law in force in the State of Queensland, Australia and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of courts of that State.
b) If any provision in these terms and conditions is void or unenforceable, that provision shall be read down to the extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable and, to the extent that it cannot be so read down, shall be deemed to be severed from this Agreement.
This clause 13 sets out the way in which you can pre-purchase an electronic Single Entry to the Virgin Australia lounge on the internet from us.
a) Entry to the lounge with a Single Entry will be subject to all Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge Rules.
b) When you use a Single Entry to visit the Virgin Australia lounge, your access to and use of the Virgin Australia lounge will be governed by Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions, and you will be a Single Entry Guest for the purposes of the Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions.
c) To pre-purchase Single Entry, you must be a Member of Velocity Frequent Flyer; Alternatively, you can purchase a Single Entry in person at the Virgin Australia lounge of your choice, on your day of travel.
d) How to buy. You can purchase a Single Entry online by logging into your Account through the Virgin Australia lounge Website and paying the Single Entry Fee. Alternatively for Corporate, Government and Industry Members, the Scheme Coordinator may purchase a Single Entry on your behalf by logging onto the Corporate Virgin Australia lounge Management System.
e) We may in our discretion increase, reduce or temporarily discount the Single Entries for all Single Entries or other pre-paid passes specifically.
f) How to use. You can use your Single Entry by showing your Velocity Membership card at the Virgin Australia lounge on the day of your departure, a maximum of two hours prior to your scheduled Virgin Australia flight departure. If you do not have your Velocity Membership card, we may be unable to verify your identity, and you may not be able to use your Single Entry.
g) Checking Pass status. You can check how many unused Single Entries you have by logging into your Velocity Account through the Velocity Website.
h) Restrictions:
i. Single Entries can be redeemed at Virgin Australia lounges only. Single Entries cannot be redeemed at our partner airline, or International lounges. For a current list of all the Virgin Australia lounge locations, please visit the Virgin Australia lounge Website.
ii. Single Entries pre-purchased online are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase;
iii. A maximum of 6 online Single Entries can be purchased in any one transaction;
iv. Single Entries are not refundable, and are not redeemable for cash or other services provided by Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd; and;
v. You cannot transfer Single Entries to other people (for example, to other Velocity Members) but you can use your Single Entries to enable other people (who are travelling with you) to gain access to the Virgin Australia lounge.
i) The Sale of Single Entries is subject to space availability at all times, and may not be available for use, or purchase during peak periods and high capacity utilisation of Virgin Australia lounges.
In addition to any other obligations in these Terms and Conditions, Scheme Coordinators must:
a) provide Virgin Australia any correct and required information;
b) not in any way sell, barter, attempt to transfer or otherwise deal with any benefits connected with Membership of the Virgin Australia lounge;
c) not abuse or misuse any benefits accorded to the Member as part of their Membership of the Virgin Australia lounge;
d) not act in any way which is likely to be contrary to the interests of Virgin Australia; and
e) be responsible for keeping up to date any changes to these Terms and Conditions via the Virgin Australia lounge Website.
This clause 15 sets out the way in which your organisation can purchase, use and manage Corporate or Government Memberships to the Virgin Australia lounge on the internet ("Online Corporate Scheme") from us. These conditions are in addition to all Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge Rules.
a) When you use an Online Corporate Scheme, your access to and use of the Virgin Australia lounge will be governed by the Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions, and you will be a Corporate Member for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions.
b) Velocity Membership. To purchase Corporate or Government Memberships, each individual nominated for a Corporate Membership must be a Member of Velocity Frequent Flyer. If the individual nominated for the Corporate Membership is not a Velocity Member, the Scheme Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the individual nominated joins by visiting the Velocity Website.
c) How to buy. Guests belonging to a Corporate Scheme can purchase Corporate Membership by accepting their Nomination and logging into the Virgin Australia Lounge Website and paying the Corporate Membership Fee. Membership to the Virgin Australia lounge can also be purchased on an individual’s behalf by their assigned Scheme Coordinator or Virgin Australia. We may at our discretion increase, reduce or temporarily discount the Corporate Membership Fee for all Corporate Members or for the Online Corporate Scheme specifically. When an Annual Corporate Membership is purchased, the Membership will be activated electronically under the nominated individual’s Velocity account. A Scheme Coordinator may also pre-purchase a Single Entry online by paying the Single Entry Fee on the Corporate Member’s behalf.
d) How to use. Each Corporate Member can use Corporate Membership by showing their Velocity card at the Virgin Australia lounge on the day of your departure. If the Corporate Member does not have their Velocity Card, we may be unable to verify the Corporate Member’s identity, and the Corporate Member may not be able to use your Corporate Membership. Usual entry conditions apply - refer to Virgin Australia lounge Conditions for details. When the Corporate Member enters the Virgin Australia lounge, the Corporate Member uses their Corporate Membership, regardless of how long you stay in the Virgin Australia lounge
e) Restrictions:
i. Virgin Australia lounges are available at selected Australian Domestic airports. For a current list of all the Virgin Australia lounge locations, please visit the Virgin Australia lounge Website.
ii. Corporate and Government Memberships are not refundable, and are not redeemable for cash or other services provided by Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd.
iii. The Scheme Coordinator can transfer a company paid Corporate or Government Membership to another nominated individual (for example, to another employee who is a Velocity Member) once per year.
iv. Management of the Corporate or Government Memberships is solely the responsibility of the Scheme Coordinator, and Virgin Australia shall not be liable for the Scheme Coordinators failure to advise Virgin Australia of changes to the Corporate Members details.
v. A Scheme Coordinator can nominate an individual for Corporate or Government Membership who is already a Velocity Platinum or Velocity Gold Member. However the Scheme Coordinator cannot purchase a Membership as their Platinum and Gold Velocity status includes complimentary access to the Virgin Australia lounge.
vi. Once Nominated by the Scheme Coordinator, the individual has 30 days to purchase a Virgin Australia lounge Membership within the applicable Scheme before the nomination expires. The Membership Fee and Joining Fee will be communicated to the individual at the time of nomination.
This clause 16 sets out the way in which your travel organisation or association can purchase, use and manage Industry Memberships to the Virgin Australia lounge on the internet ("Online Industry Scheme") from us.
a) These conditions are in addition to all Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions and the Virgin Australia lounge Rules. When you use an Online Industry Scheme you will be an Industry Member for the purposes of the Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions.
b) A travel organisation or association must have a signed agreement with Us, and must qualify for Industry Membership in accordance with their agreement with Us.
c) Velocity Membership. To purchase Industry Memberships, each proposed Industry Member must be a Member of Velocity Frequent Flyer. If the proposed Industry Member is not a Velocity Member, the proposed Industry Member must join Velocity Frequent Flyer prior to their attempt to join the Virgin Australia lounge. If the travel organisation or association has a Scheme Coordinator, the Scheme Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the proposed Industry Member joins by visiting the Velocity Website.
d) How to buy. A travel organisation or association can purchase Industry Memberships by logging into the Virgin Australia lounge Website and paying the Industry Membership Rate. We may at our discretion increase, reduce or temporarily discount the Industry Membership Rate for all Industry Members or for an Online Industry Scheme specifically. When you purchase the Industry Memberships, we will store the Membership electronically in the nominated individual’s Velocity account. A Scheme Coordinator may also pre-purchase a Single Entry online by paying the Single Entry Fee on the Industry Members’ behalf.
e) How to use. Each Industry Member can use their Industry Membership by showing their Membership Card at the Virgin Australia lounge on the day of your departure. If the Industry Member does not have a Membership Card, we may be unable to verify the Industry Member’s identity, and the Industry Member may not be able to use their Industry Membership. When the Industry Member enters the Virgin Australia lounge, the Industry Member uses their Industry Membership, regardless of how long they stay in the Virgin Australia lounge.
f) Restrictions:
i. Virgin Australia lounges are available at selected Australian Domestic airports. For a current list of all the Virgin Australia lounge locations, please visit the Virgin Australia lounge Website.
ii. Industry Memberships are not refundable, non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash or other services provided by Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd; and
iii. Management of the Industry Memberships is solely the responsibility of the Scheme Coordinator and/or Industry Member and Virgin Australia shall not be liable for the Scheme Coordinators or Industry Member’s failure to advise Virgin Australia of changes to the Industry Members details.
This clause 17 sets out the way in which you can purchase and use Lifetime Memberships to the Virgin Australia lounge from Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Limited ("Us").
a) These conditions are in addition to all Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions and Virgin Australia lounge Rules, available at the Virgin Australia lounge Website.
b) Velocity Membership. To purchase Lifetime Memberships, you must be an Australian resident, aged 18 years or over, and Member of Velocity Frequent Flyer, You can join Velocity Frequent Flyer online on the Velocity Website.
c) How to buy. Lifetime Membership can be purchased by calling the Virgin Australia lounge Membership team on 1300 287 202 during business hours or email to thelounge@virginaustralia.com.
d) How to use. Lifetime Members can use Lifetime Membership by showing their Membership Card at the Virgin Australia lounge on the day of your departure. If the Lifetime Member does not have their Membership Card, we may be unable to verify the Lifetime Member’s identity, and the Lifetime Member may not be able to use the Membership. The entry conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the lounge.
e) When the Lifetime Member enters the Virgin Australia lounge, the Lifetime Member uses their Lifetime Membership, regardless of how long the stay in the Virgin Australia lounge.
f) Restrictions:
i. Lifetime Memberships are not refundable, and we will not provide pro-rata discount or refund for achieving or maintaining Velocity Status with complimentary lounge entitlement.
ii. Lifetime Memberships are not transferable or willable, and are not redeemable for cash or other services provided by Virgin Australia.
iii. Senior Lifetime Membership is available at a discounted rate to Members aged 60 years and over. Proof of age is required at the time of purchase.
